Privacy Policy

FlashFile is built on a privacy-first foundation. Every file you process stays on your device — nothing is uploaded or stored. This policy explains the limited anonymous data we collect through Google Analytics and Google AdSense, and the choices you have.

100% client-side — your files never leave your device

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how FlashFile ("we," "our," or "us") handles information when you visit flashfile.pro (the "Service"). We are committed to being transparent about what data is collected, how it is used, and the choices you have. FlashFile is a privacy-first file conversion platform. The files you process with our tools are handled entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers. The only data we collect is anonymous usage information through third-party services (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) to help us understand how the site is used and to display relevant advertising. By using FlashFile, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Client-Side File Processing

100% of file processing on FlashFile happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. When you drop a file into any of our tools, it is read by code running inside your browser tab — it is never transmitted to our servers or any external service. Merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, watermarking, and image conversion are all performed entirely on your device. Because your files never leave your device, we do not collect, store, or have access to the contents, names, or metadata of any file you process.

Information We Collect

FlashFile does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use our tools. The information we collect automatically when you visit is limited to: • Usage data — pages visited, tools used, time spent, and approximate geographic region (country/city level, derived from IP address). • Technical data — browser type, device type, operating system, screen resolution, and referring website. • Consent state — your response to our cookie consent banner (stored locally on your device). We do NOT collect: • Your name, email, or contact details (unless you email us directly). • The contents, names, or metadata of any file you process. • Any data that can identify a specific individual on its own.

No File Storage

Your files are never stored on any server or external service. Because processing happens in your browser, the file exists only in your device's memory for the duration of the conversion. The moment you close the tab, refresh the page, or download your result, every trace of the file is gone — permanently.

Google Analytics

FlashFile uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve the experience. Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data such as page views, session duration, and approximate location (country/city level). Key points about our Google Analytics setup: • IP addresses are anonymized ("anonymize_ip: true") — Google truncates your IP before storing it. • We do not use Google Analytics to track individual users across other websites. • Google Analytics stores cookies on your device to distinguish users and sessions. You can learn more about how Google uses data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google Analytics only runs after you accept analytics cookies through our consent banner.

Google AdSense

FlashFile displays advertisements served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-8087290056122689). AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. • Google AdSense may use the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads based on your interests and to measure the performance of ad campaigns. • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. • You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info (or www.youronlinechoices.eu in Europe). We use Google Consent Mode. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are not shown personalized ads and no advertising cookies are used for personalization unless they accept advertising cookies in our consent banner. Visitors elsewhere can turn personalized ads off at any time with the "Reject optional" button in the banner or the cookie settings link in the footer. We do not control which ads are shown and do not have access to the personal data Google collects for ad personalization.

Cookies

FlashFile uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes: • Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g., remembering your dark mode preference and your cookie consent choice). These cannot be disabled. • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — used to measure how the site is used. Only active after you consent. • Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) — used to display and measure ads. Only active after you consent. We do not use cookies to identify you personally. You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. For full details, please read our Cookie Policy.

Third-Party Services

FlashFile relies on the following third-party services, each with its own privacy practices: • Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy • Google AdSense — advertising. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy • Google Fonts — typography. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy These providers may collect information governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We do not share any personal data with these services beyond what is automatically collected as described above.

Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because FlashFile does not collect personal data that identifies you directly, most of these rights are exercised through your browser and the third-party tools described above. Your rights include: • The right to be informed about how your data is used (this policy). • The right to access any personal data held about you. • The right to request deletion of your personal data. • The right to object to or restrict certain processing. • The right to withdraw consent at any time — you can revoke cookie consent via our banner or by clearing your browser cookies. • The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ayman@flashfile.pro. We will respond within 30 days.

Data Security

FlashFile's protection model is built on three pillars: Client-Side Processing — All file conversions run as JavaScript inside your browser. Your file never travels across the internet, so there is no opportunity for it to be intercepted, stored, or misused in transit. Browser Security — Your browser's own security sandbox isolates each tab. Files processed in one tab cannot be accessed by other sites, and the browser's same-origin policies keep your data contained. HTTPS Encryption — All traffic between your browser and our website is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS, protecting any anonymous usage data in transit. User Control — You are always in control. You choose which file to load, you watch it process in real time, and you decide when to download or discard the result.

Children's Privacy

FlashFile is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. For significant changes, we will provide a more prominent notice (such as a notice on the homepage or via the cookie consent banner). Your continued use of FlashFile after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
