What metadata is removed?
EXIF data (camera make, model, settings), GPS location coordinates, XMP packets, ICC color profiles and IPTC/Photoshop tags are stripped by re-encoding the image through a clean canvas.
Does removal reduce image quality?
Visual quality is preserved as closely as the browser encoder allows. Because the image is re-encoded, JPG files may change very slightly, but the visible pixels remain essentially identical.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The entire process runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.
Which formats are supported?
